U2030 and Georgia Power Join Forces with Park Pride to Beautify Atlanta

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Atlanta, GA – April 10, 2024 – The Utility 2030 Collaborative (U2030) and Georgia Power are thrilled to unveil its partnership with Atlanta-based Park Pride for a transformative community service project leading up to the highly anticipated Design Thinking Masterclass: U2030 Design-Think-a-Thon. Set for May 14-15, 2024, the masterclass—focused on “Breaking Down Silos to Overcome the Energy & Water Capacity Dilemma”—will unfold at Georgia Power’s headquarters in downtown Atlanta on Ralph McGill Blvd., commencing with a networking lunch at Georgia Power at 11:30 AM. As an optional precursor to the event, the Park Pride Project will run from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM that day, with transportation provided. An estimated thirty masterclass members will be involved in the project, contributing approximately 120 people-hours and another $2500 in charitable donations from U2030.

According to Michael Halicki, Executive Director of Park Pride, “We’re grateful to partner with U2030 and Georgia Power on this volunteer day supporting Atlanta’s greenspaces. Working together to improve our parks is an excellent way to show respect for the environment and the people who live and work here.”

U2030 strives to uplift and support people and enhance their well-being, including the communities it serves. Rooted in the endeavor to understand and empathize with stakeholders, including utility customers, U2030’s community service initiatives enable its members to forge personal bonds while simultaneously expressing gratitude to the cities hosting U2030’s events.

“Establishing personal connections through community service projects transcends mere data and statistics. This collaboration with Park Pride epitomizes our commitment and excitement for fostering positive change within Atlanta and beyond,” remarks Christina Corcoran, COO of U2030. “It embodies our shared values and dedication to uplifting communities and our environment, where every effort counts towards creating a brighter future for all.”
