July 5, 2023, Atlanta, GA – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Frankie McDermott, the Chief Operating Officer of the Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) and a member of the U2030 Board, has been honored with a C-Suite Award by the Sacramento Business Journal. This prestigious accolade celebrates executives who have made significant contributions to their organizations and the broader business community.
Frankie’s impressive career spans nearly 20 years at SMUD, one of the top 10 utilities in the United States. Throughout his tenure, he has held various critical senior leadership positions, including Chief Energy Delivery Officer, Chief Customer Officer, Senior Director of Customer Services, and others. His commitment and expertise have left a lasting impact on SMUD and the industry as a whole.
Prior to joining SMUD, Frankie held senior management roles in the semiconductor industry at NEC Electronics in California and in Ireland.
Frankie will deliver the welcome address at the U2030 Annual SPARK Meeting, August 28-29, 2023, in Los Angeles. During the talk, “Inspiration from California’s Transformation Journey,” he will welcome attendees to the Golden State and share highlights from its energy and water evolution.
