The Utility 2030 Leadership Collaborative (U2030) is proud to celebrate Sheri Rice’s recent promotion to Director of Transmission & Distribution Operations at Seattle City Light (SCL).
Sheri is a graduate of the U2030 RADIATE Women’s Leadership Program and most recently served as Interim Director at SCL before formally applying for – and earning – the permanent role. When she participated in RADIATE, she served as the Technical Metering Operations Manager, already demonstrating the operational depth and leadership presence that would continue to grow.
According to her RADIATE mentor, Christy Dray, Manager of Substation Maintenance at SMUD:
“From the moment Sheri entered RADIATE, she showed both technical excellence and a willingness to stretch beyond her comfort zone. She leads with integrity, earns trust quickly, and does the hard work of aligning people around outcomes. This promotion is a natural next step for a leader of her caliber.”
Sheri shared:
“RADIATE gave me the space to step back from day-to-day operations and think more intentionally about the kind of leader I want to be. Serving as Interim Director challenged me to lead at a broader organizational level, and I’m grateful for the mentors and peers who encouraged me to step forward with confidence.”
Sheri, everyone at U2030 deeply respects the leadership you’ve demonstrated and is grateful to have been part of your journey.
