MILWAUKEE, WI — September 23, 2026 — The Utility 2030 Leadership Collaborative (U2030) will bring together utility executives and leading executive-search experts for “The Future of Leadership: What Leadership Must Become” during the U2030 SPARK 2026 Annual Meeting, September 28–30 at Saint Kate Arts Hotel in Milwaukee, WI.
Dwight Scruggs, from UtilityAPI, will moderate the panel, which includes:

As utilities navigate rapid technological change, workforce disruption, rising customer expectations, and increasing operational complexity, traditional leadership models are being tested. This conversation will explore the mindsets, behaviors, and capabilities leaders must develop to build strong teams, make difficult decisions, and lead confidently into an increasingly connected future.
By combining the perspectives of a SMUD board member and experts who advise organizations on executive talent and succession, the panel will give attendees a candid look at how leadership expectations are changing, and how utilities can prepare their current and future leaders.
The 45-minute session will take place from 10:50 to 11:35 a.m. during SPARK 2026.
