The phrase comes from Balcony People by Joyce Landorf Heatherley, who describes these women as those who stand in the balcony of your life, applauding your efforts and lifting you up when you doubt yourself.

Women Who SPARK Awards Program
Now in its fourth year, the Women Who SPARK Awards is a national recognition program and a cornerstone event for utility leaders, celebrating women in the utility industry who embody leadership, innovation, transformation, and mentorship.
Award recipients become mentors and role models in our RADIATE Women’s Leadership Program, guiding the next generation of leaders and empowering women to grow their influence and prepare for greater responsibilities.
The 2025 Women Who SPARK winners will be honored at a gala dinner during the U2030 Annual SPARK Meeting on September 16, 2025, at the iconic Edgewater Hotel in Seattle, WA.
They will be celebrated alongside the 2025 RADIATE graduates and featured in leadership sessions the following day—sharing their journeys with valuable insights for attendees.
