The Utility 2030 Leadership Collaborative (U2030) is excited to announce that Matt Chester has joined the team as Member Success Principal. In this role, Matt will focus on ensuring U2030’s members are fully supported—translating their goals into measurable outcomes, helping them leverage U2030’s resources, and strengthening the connections that drive collaboration across the utility industry.

Matt brings more than a decade of experience working at the intersection of energy, technology, and policy. As the founder of Chester Energy & Policy and a consultant for leading organizations, including the U.S. Department of Energy, Matt has developed a reputation for blending technical rigor with clear communications and practical problem-solving. His writing, analysis, and thought leadership have been widely recognized and featured in prominent outlets, including USA Today, the Rocky Mountain Institute, and Renewable Energy World.

By stepping into this new role, Matt will serve as a key resource for U2030 members, helping them navigate industry challenges, align best practices, and make the most of their participation in the U030 community. With his passion for system-level problem solving and his track record of leadership in energy communications, Matt is well-positioned to champion the success of U2030 members as they lead utilities through one of the most transformational periods in the industry’s history.

“We’re excited to welcome Matt to the U2030 team,” said Vanessa Edmonds, founder and CEO of U2030. “Our members are navigating complex transformations, and they deserve a trusted partner who can turn their challenges into opportunities. Matt’s blend of technical expertise, clear communication, and problem-solving experience makes him the ideal guide to help our members achieve meaningful results on their individual journeys.”
