Leadership Styles in Practice

8:00 AM – 4:00 PM | Held the day before the ENERGIZE Retreat


This full-day RADIATE workshop equips leaders with practical tools to lead more effectively by treating leadership as a situational practice rather than a one-size-fits-all style. Participants will apply the U2030 Leadership Styles Module to assess employee readiness—balancing task-specific capability and motivation—and intentionally adjust leadership behaviors to meet individuals and teams where they are.

Leaders will learn when to provide direction, coach capability, reinforce confidence, or delegate authority while maintaining accountability, and how to respond effectively to performance regression during role changes, new systems, or operational pressure. The result is a shared leadership language and daily practice that strengthen workforce capability, build trust, and improve execution across utilities.

In addition to U2030 Leadership Styles, participants will have time to meet with their mentor* and spend focused time on their Capstone.

8:00 – 8:30 AM | Breakfast & Arrival
A relaxed arrival and breakfast to reconnect with cohort members and prepare for the day.

 

8:30 – 9:00 AM | Welcome, Safety Moment & Framing the Day
Opening remarks, Safety and Customer Moments, and framing that connects leadership styles to the real-world challenges participants are navigating in their roles and organizations.

 

9:00 – 10:30 AM | Leadership Styles – Part 1

10:30 – 10:45 AM | Break

 

10:45 AM – 12:15 PM | Leadership Styles – Part 2

 

12:15 – 1:00 PM | Lunch

 

1:00 – 2:00 PM | Leadership Styles – Part 3

 

2:00 – 2:15 PM | Break

 

2:15 – 3:00 PM | Mentorship & Sponsorship Session
Participants engage in an in-person mentorship session or, for participants whose mentor is not at the workshop, a facilitated discussion on the distinction between mentorship and sponsorship, how to build both, and how to be intentional in cultivating advocates.

 

3:00 – 4:00 PM | Capstone Session: Integrating Your Leadership Journey
The day concludes with a capstone experience that integrates leadership styles, personal leadership brand, mentorship, and career goals. Participants will reflect on key insights, share learnings with peers, and identify concrete next steps to apply immediately.
