News: U2030 Announces Emcees for Third Annual Women Who SPARK Awards Gala

Nashville, TN – July 26, 2024 – The Utility 2030 Collaborative (U2030) is excited to introduce our esteemed emcees for its third annual U2030 Women Who SPARK Awards Gala, a U2030 Annual SPARK Meeting highlight.

Janisse Quinones, CEO and Chief Engineer of the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP), and Jody Allison, Vice President of Transformation at Liberty Utilities, will host the gala alongside Paul Applegate from InvoiceCloud, the sponsor of this impactful awards program. Together, they will lead the celebration recognizing the remarkable achievements of women who have significantly impacted the utility sector.

Both Janisse and Jody are past Women Who SPARK Award winners. Jody was recognized in 2022 and Janisse was honored in 2023 (during her tenure as SVP of Electric Operations at PG&E).

The U2030 Women Who SPARK Awards Gala shines a spotlight on the exceptional work of women driving change and advancing the utility industry. Attendees look forward to an inspiring evening of recognition, networking, and celebration at Sambuca on September 17, 2024, at 6:30 PM. Sambuca is conveniently located across the street from The Thompson, the U2030 Annual SPARK Meeting venue. The Thompson was the favorite choice of visitors to Music City, according to Travel + Leisure’s 2024 World’s Best Awards.

"We are thrilled to have distinguished leaders like Janisse Quinones, Jody Allison, and Paul Applegate emceeing our Women Who SPARK Awards Gala," say Vanessa Edmonds, Executive Director of U2030 and the creator of the awards program. "Their commitment to transformation, innovation, and women’s empowerment exemplifies the spirit of the awards. We are immensely grateful to InvoiceCloud their ongoing support and honored to have them join this celebration of our incredible 2024 award winners."

U2030 will announce winners to non-attendees via a press release on the morning of July 18, 2024, and feature them in sessions throughout SPARL on September 18, and U2030 will feature them in a series of articles following the event that readers can find at www.utility2030.org.
