The State of Maryland is known for many things: Blue crabs, the NFL’s Ravens, MLB’s Orioles, and now, decarbonization. In this U2030 Energy Transition Center of Excellence, we’ll hear from Maryland’s largest electric utility, BGE, and how the utility is striving to meet the state’s decarbonization goals of 60% decarbonization by 2031 and fully net zero by 2045. Divesh Gupta, BGE’s Strategy Director, will share his insights and the BGE experience in balancing the need to move deeper into the energy transition while meeting goals that include meeting customer expectations equitably across of a diverse customer base 1.3 million customers, staying aligned with their regulator goals, and maintaining historic reliability metrics and rate stability.
